Overview

Managers are often ignored in the Agile space if not vilified. But they have an important role - to create a great environment for people to work in. This involves understanding systems thinking and proper ways to delegate.

Many managers are reduced to status-reporting or backlog grooming.

This podcast explains how the environment people are in has a huge impact on the efficiency of people.
It explains three roles managers have:

  • Creating a great environment for people to work in
  • Delegating with the proper information
  • Creating safe environments so that people can improve

This goes beyond servant leadership.

It also shows how managers can take their current skills and apply them in Agile organizations.
Takeaway: Managers can accelerate value by removing friction.
