California is an employee-centric state with more protection for employees in the workplace. State-specific and multi-state Employers always struggle with workplace regulations that may intersect with employees they have located in California, especially remote employees. Moreover, California regulations more often exceed most federal workplace regulations and employers have a hard time determining which regulations supersede which regulations are Federal, State, or Local.
